AI literacy doesn't require a computer science degree. It requires structured exposure over a few weeks. Here's a roadmap that works whether you have 15 minutes a day or an hour.
Week 1 — Understand the landscape
Learn what LLMs actually are (in plain language), try three different AI chat tools, and notice how their answers differ. Don't build anything yet — just get comfortable asking questions.
Week 2 — Prompting fundamentals
Practice giving roles, examples, and step-by-step instructions. Redo the same task five different ways and compare the outputs. This is where most of the "wow, it actually works" moments happen.
Week 3 — Apply it to your actual work
Use AI for a real assignment, project, or personal task — not a toy exercise. Real stakes teach faster than tutorials.
Week 4 — Go one level deeper
Try one tool that requires slightly more setup: an API call in Postman, a no-code automation, or a simple chatbot. You don't need to become technical — just enough to see what's under the hood.
By day 30, you won't be an AI engineer. You'll be someone who's comfortable, fast, and useful with AI — which puts you ahead of most of your peers and most working professionals.
